Government/School Issued Photo ID Required
to Complete SAFECON Registrations

San Diego, CA - At its 2008 Mid-Winter Business Meeting, the NFIA Council set the requirement that a government or school issued photo ID will be required to complete all future NIFA registrations. Contestants, coaches, advisors, sponsors, and visitors will be required to show proof of identity in order to pick up their SAFECON ID badge.

Although the NIFA ID began as a souvenir item over 20 years ago, it is now a requirement for participant identification at most NIFA competitions. As airport security continues to increase, the importance of the NIFA id badge has become more apparent. ID photos submitted which do not meet the standards of appropriateness for an identification badge (view guidelines) will not be accepted. Individuals submitting an inappropriate photo may not be permitted to participate in the SAFECON.
